Well, it’s a lazy Sunday and I’m bored out of my mind, so I’m glad I remembered that I can spill words that nobody reads here instead of Reddit for once.
I’ve been quite busy with my full-time job (music therapist for adorable little old ladies with dementia) but I’ve also continued with stand-up comedy. It’s been progressing at a pace only a sloth could envy… My skills and reputation are slowly improving but shows were hard to come by this summer, and are sparse in general. Y’see, from a comedy standpoint, I need to get out of Connecticut, because it really is a dead-end scene and getting deader by the day. I have my first show next weekend at the esteemed Dick Doherty’s Comedy Den in Boston, and have other shows in Northampton and NY, which I suppose is exciting. But without living in one of those cities, I’ll never get a real footing, so I’m trying to make things happen.
I’ve also been writing for my friend’s baseball and fantasy baseball site Pitcherlist.com every week since March, writing about minor league baseball players the only way I know how. The site has accrued a sizable viewership and it’s been fun, but I’m going to enjoy having more free time this offseason.
My old comic websites Short Attention Span (collaborative webcomic) and Chutzpah! (Jewish humor webcomic) have gone the way of the buffalo and rode off into the sunset. But while I think it’s unlikely that I’ll keep this going regularly, I’ll still post comics whenever I can, and try to work it more into my routine… I still have time-wasters I can cut out to make room. Thanks to anyone who’s still here!
